Emergency Live-In Home Care
When a crisis happens, you don’t have time to wait. Emergencies don’t happen on a schedule, and that’s why our team is ready to step in 24/7. From your first call, we’ll act quickly to complete an assessment of need (either initial or in conjunction with NHS discharge notes), find the most suitable carer who can step in right away. You’ll always speak to a real member of our team – day or night – not a call centre. And because we have a wide network of experienced carers, we can usually have someone with you within 24 to 48 ours, depending on travel and location
Who is emergency live in care for?
Emergency live-in care is there when you suddenly need help at home. Some of the most common situations include:
- After an accident: Falls, fractures, or other accidents that mean daily care is needed.
- Discharge from hospital: Hospitals often discharge patients before families feel ready. We can step in straight away to make the transition home safe and comfortable.
- Sudden illness: If illness strikes out of nowhere, we provide care, medication support, and reassurance for both the person affected and their family.
- Carer cover: Sometimes a regular carer is unavailable due to illness or family emergency. Our team can provide cover so there’s no break in support.
- Respite cover: Sometimes a regular carer needs a break with short notice. Our team can provide cover so there’s no break in support.

Live in care testimonials
Our family has nothing but praise for Versacare. We have had live-in carers for nearly a year, and all have been conscientious. The office staff are really helpful and selected carers to meet the complex needs of my parents, and patiently sent us a number of carers until we found the one that was the most suited to my parents. My Dad had Parkinson's and his needs were fully met until he passed away last year. The care he received, especially in his last days, was wonderful. There was no interruption of care when he died, and now my Mum has the blessing of being in her own home, despite Alzheimer's, thanks to Versacare!

We would like to inform you of the excellent working practice Oti delivered yesterday. Oti was able to recognise a young person was struggling with his mental health. She stayed in communication with the Home Manager whilst closely monitoring the situation.
Oti's quick thinking and due diligence saved the young person from seriously harming himself. For this, we are very grateful as the outcome could have been very different.
Oti is a very competent worker. She excels in all areas but most of all the genuine interest and compassion she shows the young people. Please pass on our sincere appreciation to Oti.

I just wanted to say how happy my mother is with Liz as her carer. I am very happy too! I feel most things are in place now and I can return to Sweden more relaxed. If there are any concerns please do call me anytime. I have been dealing with my mums medical matters so am happy to be called initially. Many thanks Kevin for sending us Liz !!

Emergency care FAQs
Emergency care is arranged faster, usually within a day. Regular care can take more planning. Should you wish to keep live in care, after your emergency care has been arranged we can then work to find you a carer who perfectly matches your personality, and will remain on a long term basis with breaks, where we also try to cover with carers who have attended before and understand the client needs and preferences.
All our carers are fully trained, DBS background-checked, covered with full liability insurance (which unregulated agencies do not provide) and regularly monitored. Find out about our recruitment process and how ensure exceptional care.
Yes. We understand that client and carer do not always get along as we would like, and If things aren’t working, we’ll arrange a replacement carer very promptly.
Absolutely. Many families call us as soon as they know a discharge date. It is important that families do not feel pressured by Hospitals to have their loved ones discharged to a residential care home (unless it is for very short term rehabilitation, and even then families and clients must agree) , it is THEIR choice to request Live-in care
Some people may qualify for local authority or NHS (CHC) funding. We can guide you on where to start. Take a look at our funding care page or give our office team a call.
Having a carer provides reassurance, reduces stress, and helps people feel less alone, with the ability to live their lives how THEY wish. This provides support for both the person being cared for as well as their family.
